March 22, 2011 - I had a chance to talk to Derek Rose from Northwestern State, a Linebacker and upcoming redshirt junior and leader for his team. This kid was one heck of a football player in high school at O.P. Walker High School in New Orleans, and has turned into a great player for the Demons in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

A: This upcoming season we as a team plan on being Conference champs.
Q: What does the Linebacker position look like overall going into the spring and for fall?
A: Things are really looking good overall, this spring we have all three starters returning at Linebacker.
Q: Who are the other two starters coming back at Linebacker?
A: Senior Lamont Simmons who was my old high school teammate at O.P. Walker High School, and Senior Yaser Elqutub.
Q: Derek who are the most impressive young Linebackers that will help the position in 2011?
A: Some young guys who can step up and help at linebacker are Wa’Derrious Sellers who played ball at Neville in Monroe, Pat Black and Jordan Sennett also from O P Walker High School.
Q: Derek what’s your current height and weight going into spring practice?
