March 21, 2011 - As signing day passed, several kids for different reasons did not sign. Some for injuries, some for grades, and some just got overlooked. A name to remember that did not sign because of an injury is a kid by the name of Nick Norman of Scotlandville High School, who is a big back that to me going into his senior season was one of the top players and Fullbacks in the country. Nick missed most of the 2010 season because of an injury and I had a chance to catch up with him to see what he might do for a college. Nick is as gifted a player for his position as any that I watched in 2009 and 2008 in Louisiana. He’s fully recovered from his injury
Q: Nick, how many games did you miss this past season?
A: I played in three games.
Q: What type of injury did you have?
A: I went out against Southern Lab High School with a partial tear in the ACL.
Q: Nick, how did you do in the three games you played?
A: I had two hundred yards a game before the injury.
Q: Are you a hundred percent now from the injury?
A: I have been working hard since the injury and my recovery has been great. I am back to running and cutting, and I’m excited about the next time I touch the pigskin (Football).
Q: Nick, has it motivated you to prove the coaches wrong to get back and show everyone what you have?
A: I have it in my mind that I am going to be untouchable, and I promise that I will prove it to my coach whoever he might be. Nothing is going to get in my way of achieving a very good season and career with any team that decides to sign me.
Q: What’s your current height and weight?
A: 5-11, 235 pounds
Q: What’s your current bench press, and squat max?
A: 325 in the bench and 550 in the squat.
Q: What’s your current forty time?
A: 4.57
Q: What schools or coaches are still talking to you about playing football?
A: I still talk to LSU Coach Frank Wilson a lot. I’m supposed to talk to him again soon. I’m in talks with Troy University and several Junior Colleges if I don’t get the DI offer.
Good luck to you Nick.
A: Thank you
