March 17, 2011 - Andre Hal is a kid who can really run, and was a sleeper who got away from LSU last year and was not offered.  Andre played as a True Freshman last year at Vanderbilt and I asked Andre some questions about this season, the University and the city of Nashville. Andre played high school football at Port Allen High School near Baton Rouge.

Q: What’s your current height and weight going into the 2011 Football season?

A: 5-11, 182 pounds

Q: Are you starting going into the spring? If so, what position?

A: I am competing for the starting position at Cornerback and I think I will get the starting nod in the end.

Q: Did you play last year as a True Freshman for Vanderbilt?

A: I played in every game last year. I had 3 starts; my first was against Florida University.  I had 7 solo tackles, and 2 kick returns for 58 yards in that game. My other two starts where against Tennessee & Wake Forest and I played the majority of the Kentucky game. I averaged 23.6 yards on 11 kick returns in 2010.

Q: What are your goals as a player and for you team in 2011?

A: My goals as a player is to start and make All SEC and to score at least 2 kick returns. My goals as a team are to have a winning season with our new coaches and make it to a bowl game.

Q: What do you love most about Vanderbilt University and the city of Nashville?

A: The thing I love the most about Vanderbilt is the way the players and the coaches have a relationship as if we were all family.  As a player I can always go to the coaches and talk to them about anything. Nashville is a great city I love it up here until it starts to snow, but other than that Nashville always has something to do. The campus is near downtown so it is easy to find something to do.
