March 4, 2011 - Center Brandon Stogner (6-4, 330 pounds) from Dunham High School has signed to play football for Ouachita Baptist College, a Div 2 school in the Great American Conference comprising of schools from Arkansas, Texas & Oklahoma. Brandon will make the move to Offensive Guard, which is a normal transition for a lot of centers coming out of high school.
Brandon is a great story of a kid who never played football for varsity until his senior season and just started playing football in the last two to three years. Brandon weighed close to 400 pounds after his junior season, and started training with a company called Fitt in Baton Rouge and now is all the way down to 330 pounds. Fitt is located off off Perkins Road in Baton Rouge and they have done wonders for this kid.
If Brandon can get down to 300 pounds or even 285, I feel like he can become a pretty good football player with having a couple of more years under his belt; he’s just learning the game of football. This is a great kid from a great family. Brandon was also offered by Valley Forge Prep School in Philly, PA.
Brandon will report sometime in early August .
