East Feliciana Head Coach Cedric Anderson
February 24, 2011 - I had a chance to catch up with Former Tulane football player and current Head Coach Cedric Anderson of East Feliciana High School, who by the way, in his day, was a heck of a football player for Tulane as a Defensive Back
One of the most talented teams I saw in 2010 was East Feliciana High School. They where super fast, and could run with anyone at any level on offense and defense.

De’Vontay Hogan - East Feliciana
I would like to give you an update on some of the players that did not sign on signing day and what’s going on. All State DB/CB De’Vontay Hogan (6-2, 180) who runs a legit 4.45/40 passed on offers from three colleges on National Signing Day, and still is trying to decide where to go to college. Southeastern, Alcorn State, and Prairie View all offered. It looks like he might end up at a Junior College in the end or still one of the state colleges. This kid is one heck of a football player.
CB/SS Gilbert Grogan (6-0, 175), runs a 4.41/40, and had 5 Interceptions in 2010. Three of those were in the playoffs and those three where returned for Touchdowns. This kid really got big time better after the season ended and the playoffs began. Just ask Calvary Christian, who lost to East Feliciana in the playoffs, and the starting QB for Feliciana did not even play in the second half. We filmed that game and the team’s speed was off the charts for East Feliciana that night. Grogan is still not signed and is a big timer.
The third athlete that did not sign for 2010 class is Courtney Matthews who stands all of 5-9, 175 pounds, but runs a legit 4.41/40, and has been timed 4.4. This kid was special for 4 years at the school. You should see him on film.

Joe Robinson - East Feliciana
How about this ladies and gentleman. RB Joe Robinson (5-8, 185, 4.45/40) signed with Alcorn State and will probably start game one for them, and make the NFL one day because he’s that good. SS Hendrick Taylor (5-11, 180, 4.45/40) also signed with Alcorn State and will play next year. WR Tekemian Ceaser (6-2, 180, and 4.45/40) was one of the best WR’s I saw in the state and signed with ULM in Monroe.
This small 2A school which is now the old Jackson High School and Clinton, has some big time players, and I don’t feel like these kids got the credit they deserved overall after this season was over statewide by many.
Remember these names, and look back and say wow all these kids played football in college and 2 or 3 might make the NFL. They were all skill guys and why did the big boys not take them.
Statewide Notes
The Nicholls State Colonels added a big time CB several days after signing day by the name of Joshua Dewey (5-10, 170), from Destrehan High School, who runs a legit 4.45/40 and I saw as a DI lock down CB. This kid makes 21 players signed by the Colonels staff from Louisiana. My hat’s off to the staff they because they did a great job trying to take Louisiana kids again and did so very well with a very limited recruiting budget and out recruited some bigger schools in state.
