February 23, 2011 - I had a chance to talk to Head Football Coach Mickey McCarty today about some great stuff happening at Neville High School.
As we speak Neville is Pouring a Slab for their new Field House for All Sports, and it will be ready for the Football season this year. It will include Dressing rooms, Weight Room, Coaches Offices and Training Room and much more. Neville Football has dressed, lifted weights, and met as coaches in the Stadium since 1940, the first year they had football. This is big for Neville high school for all sports programs for their coaches and players.
I also found out that former Neville Athlete/WR Slot back Jeremy Runner who was a big part of the State Championship 4A team in 2009, is doing really well at Northwest Mississippi, Junior College, and will sign with someone after this football season. I loved watching this kid play. He runs a 4.5/40 and looks faster on film and in person. He reminded me of a former LSU player Josh Reed in running style and build (5-9, 185).
Former Neville DT DeMarcus Hodge is good to go and will report to Arkansas this year as a 2011 class signee. Hodge is 6-2, 290 pounds and can run. It would not surprise me to see Hodge on the Razorback two deep come fall.

Deep Snapper Joseph Jopling (6-1, 195) is one of the best Deep Snappers in Louisiana for the 2011 class and did not sign on signing day, but is close to enrolling to either McNeese State or LSU for Deep Snapping. After talking to coach it just depends on what school he wants to go to and the academic side of what he’s majoring in and where he wants to live the next 4 to 5 years.
