January 14, 2011 - DT Rees Gideon from St. Thomas More High School is getting interest from three colleges; namely, the University of Arkansas at Monticello, Rhodes College in Tennesee, and Millsaps in Mississippi. Gideon attended a camp at Millsaps, and is planning a visit to Arkansas Monticello and possibly Rhodes who has already come for a visit.
Gideon is 6-0, 265 pounds and in the weight room he benches 305, squats 465, and cleans 280. He said that his biggest strength as a defensive tackle is his quickness off the ball which is apparent in the five sacks he had this past season.
Out of the three schools mentioned above, Gideon said Arkansas Monticello is the one he really has his eye on.
"I like the location. It's far, but not too far from home, and it's a good division for football."
He also excels in the classroom with a GPA of 3.4 and an ACT score of 27.
