January 13, 2011 - QB Brandon Vessell from Glen Oaks High School had an impressive senior season. He had 1,896 yards passing and 22 touchdowns, and 488 yards rushing with 6 touchdowns. Vessell is 6-2, 182 pounds, and runs a 4.7/40. In the weight room, he benches 260, squats 325, and cleans 185. Vessell said his footwork is his biggest strength as a quarterback.
"I'm good at using my feet to avoid sacks and still complete the pass," said Vessell.
Vessell has gotten some interest from Southeastern and Southern who visited, but neither have offered yet. His top colleges that he would like to attend are ULM, Southeastern, La Tech, ULL, LSU, and Southern.
Vessell said,"There's nothing that I like more or less about each school. In my eyes, they are all good schools who I would love to play college football for, and they're all close to home."
Vessell also does well in school with a 3.0 GPA.
