January 11, 2011 - RB Torrey Pierce from John Curtis is getting interest from the University of Illinois, Northern Illinois University, Tulane, LSU, Stanford, Texas A&M, and Tulsa, but at this point none have offered. Out of those seven, Pierce said the University of Illinois and Northern Illinois University are his top picks at the moment because those two are the one's that are talking about offering him.
"I like [University of] Illinois' offense, the coaches and play calling," Pierce said.
Pierce is 5-8, 170 pounds and runs a 4.46/40. In the weight room, he benches 250, squats 360, and cleans 245. This past season Pierce had 103 carries for 1,064 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Pierce said that his size contributes to the way he plays.
"My biggest strength is my speed and quickness, and being able to use my size as an advantage."
In the classroom, Pierce carries an excellent 3.71 GPA.
