| Alondrea Young |
November 2, 2010 - I watched Alondrea Young play in 2009 as a Linebacker only where he had 70 tackles and 6 sacks on the season with great closing speed. This year I noticed at mid year from watching Young in 3 different games, that he has moved also to RB where he’s scored over 7 TD’s, and has had some very impressive runs as a RB. I feel from watching this kid play that he has improved his ability to be recruited a huge amount by showing his versatility to play both sides of the ball for his team. He has not only moved to RB, but has become the teams best runner for tough yards inside the 25 yard line, and it seems from watching film he can’t be denied when he gets the ball inside the 20’s to score every time.
This kid never leaves the field, and considering he weighs 216 pounds at 6-1, that’s very impressive to me. When he runs, he looks more like a FB for DI, but a talented, quick and tough kid to bring down. Alondrea Young could be a FB or LB for any DI school, and to me he’s got the Football toughness to be special at either position. This kid reminds me of a High School version of former West St. John Star FB/LB Quinn Johnson, who went to LSU as a LB, but because of his background of running the football, he left LSU as a NFL FB, and is currently with the Green Bay Packers. Quinn was only 220, when he signed with LSU out of West St. John and stood 6-0 foot tall.
Alondea Young has a 3.59 GPA and a 18 on his ACT. He squats 485, benches 350, and cleans 245. He also throws the shot put 35 feet, and Javelin 155 Feet.
Young’s favorite colleges are Nebraska, Alabama, Oregon, USC and LSU.
