| Hunter Leppert - Minden |
October 11, 2010 - One of the biggest sleepers in the state of Louisiana for 2010 recruiting class is a QB by the name of Hunter Leppert. I’ve seen Hunter on film several times, and every time I watch this kid I love his arm, feet in the pocket, and ability to run if needed because he has great feet. Hunter passed for 2,358 yards with 15 TD’s in 2009, and is on track to maybe even pass those totals this year.
This kid has a 20 on his ACT and close to a 3.0 GPA in the classroom. Hunter also excels in baseball, where his batting average is .330, and he pitches, plays 3rd base and short stop. He is a true 6-1 in height and some change, almost 6-2, and weighs 207 pounds. To me he would be a program changer after two years in a college offense as a redshirt freshman season at a DI school.
So many college programs need a good QB and I’m shaking my head while I write this article, because I’m wondering why he doesn’t have more DI offers. He’s got the best feet in the pocket for a QB in Louisiana, and he’s a tough kid that, like I said above, can run and avoid the rush for big time college football. If this kid played at a 5A powerhouse program, he would be getting more attention, but to me if you’re a college coach you sign the best players, and you can see on film that he has it all. I compare him in arm, size, and feet to a former LSU QB Matt Flynn, who came out of Tyler Lee High School in Texas and now plays for the Green Bay Packers.| < Prev | Next > |
