Kris Albarado
Kris Albarado - St. Louis Catholic

Send us the name of your favorite Louisiana Punter that you saw play in high school, and tell us why.  They can be from any era, as long as you saw them play while they were in high school, and they played in Louisiana.

Lee Brecheen’s favorite punter of all time from Louisiana that he saw play in high school, is Donnie Jones from Catholic High in Baton Rouge.  Donnie was 6-3, 190 pounds in HS.  He had a great work ethic, a cannon leg, and he was beyond his years with technique and hang time.  Lee saw Donnie punt in his junior year of high school which was the first year he started.  He went on to LSU and made all SEC and should be an all pro punter right now with the St. Louis Rams.  He averaged over 45 yards a punt the last three years which is really phenomenal.  Donnie Jones was also an all district WR/TE.  He could’ve played WR for some D1 schools.

Lee’s favorite punter that isn’t from Louisiana is Ray Guy, an NFL hall of famer from the Oakland Raiders.  Lee said that Guy was “the best I’ve ever seen.”

Some of Lee’s other favorites are the following:

Beau Mothe (6-3, 190), from Jesuit High School, is currently the starting punter for Southeastern in Hammond and is doing a really good job.

Chris Jackson (5-11, 170) from John Curtis had a great career at LSU.  He was also John Curtis High School’s QB.

Kris Albarado (6-0, 190), the current punter for St. Louis Catholic in Lake Charles.
