St. Paul quarterback Alec Duncan is ready for another successful campaign in his senior season.
Duncan passed for 1,358 yard last season, leading his Wolves to a 10-1 regular season record and a first round playoff win.
St. Paul was knocked out of the playoffs by Thibodaux High School in the second round. The Wolves have lost two straight showdowns with THS, and Duncan said the good competition makes them his favorite school to play against.
Duncan also said he would like a redemption game with Thibodaux.
“I’d like to play them again so we can get one back,” he said.
Duncan also plays basketball for St. Paul, but sat out his sophomore year and junior year.
He said his recruitment process is still open, but he has narrowed his list to a few primary schools.
“The main schools would be Cornell, Dartmouth and Princeton,” Duncan said. “I like the academic prestige, plus the campuses are beautiful up there and the atmosphere.”
Duncan said along with getting to play football in college, that academics is a major factor in his decision.
“I was talking to Cornell’s coach and he was telling me how great Ithaca is as a college town,” Duncan said. “I think it would be great because not only would you get to play football but you would get a really great education.”
But it’s not all work for Duncan. The young quarterback said he loves to vacation and would like to some day visit Rome.
“A city I’d like to visit is Rome, but my favorite vacation spot would have to be Destin. I like the nice beaches,” Duncan said.
Duncan also said he is a big fan of the New Orleans saints, and loved seeing them win their first championship.
“I thought the Super Bowl win was incredible,” he said. “It did so much for New Orleans and the state and everyone’s hoping we can repeat.”
