July 27, 2010 - One of the best Athletes in Louisiana I saw last year in person and filming was a kid named Adam Angelle.  Adam is one of these kids that’s plays with a high effort motor, and looks really fast doing it. This kid also has a strong build, and even though he’s only 5-9, 180, he plays bigger, and plays with confidence.

I saw Drew Dileo play the last three years from Parkview Baptist HS, who is only 5-10, 170, and signed with Michigan in Ann Arbor.  Angelle is every bit as good as Drew, but he’s a bigger kid. The only difference between the two is Drew had little more shake and bake moves in open field, but Adam has the ability to run over you and sprint past you.

Why I didn’t share these incredible stats from last year at Teurlings Catholic  for Angelle, I don’t know.  He rushed 540 yards for a 6.1 average, had 7 TD’s, had 30 receiving catches, 5 TD’s for a whopping 18.1 average, punt returns were an 18.5 average, and kickoff returns were 24.5 average. Oh, he also played defense as a LB and CB making over 100 tackles on the season. In 2008 he was the team’s starting QB and made second team all district.

Adam Angelle squats 355 pounds, benches 275, cleans 235, and he runs a 4.45/40. This kid also plays Baseball where he has a .329 batting average as a 2nd baseman. His GPA is a 3.9 and ACT score is a 20.

The DI schools will be dissecting his size to offer him a Scholarship or waiting for another DI school to offer. If I’m a DI coach I’m telling him to play Baseball and Football at my school and try to work it out in the end. I really love watching this kid play, and there’s a place for him in DI ball as a Kickoff return guy or Punt returner or Slot back. He plays the game at a high level, which you don’t see a lot of anymore, and he’s very fast and very tough for his size.  Remember WR Wes Welker who caught over 100 passes from Tom Brady  of the New England Patriots in 2008, and he had to walk on to Texas Tech because he was only 5-8, 170 pounds coming out of high school.
