July 20, 2010 - There’s a sleeper RB in Tangipahoa Parish named Marshall Bellazen who is 5-9, 179 pounds and runs a 4.6/40.  Last season he ran for 1,150 yards and had 12 TDs.

For a little guy, he’s very strong.  He squats 465 pounds, benches 225 pounds, and cleans 235 pounds.  Bellazen is very quick and tough to tackle in open field.  His strength is his quickness and ability to make people miss.  He plays for a school that runs the ball, so he’s not the only running back that gets the ball. Independence has a tradition of producing some really good running backs for college.

As far as grades go, Bellazen made a 19 on the ACT, and has over a 2.0 GPA which he will need to bring up some.

His top college choices given to us are Southern Miss, LSU, Mississippi State, TCU, McNeese State, and Southeastern.  Realistically, the schools that will offer are McNeese, Southeastern and possibly Southern Miss.
