July 16, 2010 - There was a kid a few years ago that ran all over defenses in the Northshore area at Slidell High School for three years. All the major schools lightly recruited him, his only offer being Tulane. That kid was Matt Forte, the now starting RB for the Chicago Bears in the NFL, after having a big time career at Tulane University.
This year there’s another kid, RB Jonathan Miles, who’s being lightly recruited by the big schools and he’s from the same old High School, Slidell High School. It really is the same old song in recruiting and this kid reminds me a lot of Matt Forte. Matt was about 205 to 210, and lean, and could run 4.5 to 4.6 in the 40, and he was tough. Jonathan Miles runs the same speed, and actually has more speed outside at this stage than Matt Forte. Miles ran for 976 yards and 18 TD’s, and returned some Punts and Kickoffs in the special teams department in 2009. Jonathan Miles stands 6-1 and weighs 204 pounds of lean muscle. This kid will be like Forte and get up to 215 to 220 in college and still run a 4.6 or better.Jonathan Miles bench presses 285 pounds, which is good for a RB, and squats 350 pounds. He’s wide open for college and decided to not give us any schools at this time.
I can see this kid being very successful in college, and in five years, after he’s a big time college player, people will be asking why the big school’s never offered. Check this kid out. He’s got it for talent, and could become a great one in college and beyond.
