Sam Cockerham

July 13, 2010 - In 2009, I filmed and watched LaSalle High School, which is right outside Alexandria, play, and noticed a big tight end by the name of Sam Cockerham who stood 6-3 and about 250 in size. This kid had great feet and could move, and most of all played hard every down. This year that same kid will be playing for West Monroe High School, and has moved to the offensive line, where he will become a big time lineman. Sam now weighs about 265 to 270 and runs a 4.9/40 or 5.0.  That is very fast for a big guy, but remember this kid played Tight End as a sophomore and junior in high school and has great feet.

I see this kid getting up to 280 to 290 once filled out in college, and becoming either a great pulling guard or a center in college.

Sam can bench press 335 pounds which is really good for a high school kid, and cleans 310 pounds which is super strong.

Sam Cockerham’s top schools that he told to me in person in order are LSU, Alabama, Mississippi State, Texas, and ULM of Monroe.  This is a kid that’s not ranked high, but will be after the year.  To me he’s one of the best in the state to recruit if you need a true offensive guard with good feet and a ton of upside.
