The next big time player, who has some nice offers, but the big boys should take notice, is Kenneth Proctor, a 6-0, 195 pound free safety who can cover deep and hits with the best of them. This is a kid that has started three years at the 5A level, in a very tough district. Think of all the top DB/RB/WR/TE that this area has, and Proctor is known as one of the top DB’s in the area. Proctor is strong in the weight room and college ready in this department as well. He squats 415 pounds, benches 265, and cleans 240 pounds. Kenneth runs 4.51 in the forty, which is really good for a Safety for college. In 2009 this kid recorded 83 tackles and 2 interceptions. A lot of teams threw away from him and ran away from him in their offense scheme in 2009. In track, Proctor competes in the 200 meter and the high jump and does very well in meets.
What impressed me the most, in person, was two years ago I saw Dutchtown play West Jefferson at Dutchtown in the playoffs. Kenneth Proctor was playing Safety and Eddie Lacy, RB, who now is an Alabama stud, ran outside, and like Lacy always did, he went for the kill. He put his head down to run over someone, and Proctor, all 180 pounds at the time, came in and took Lacy out. It was a big time hit. I wrote his name down as a sophomore, and said to myself that this kid is scared of no one in open field and has a chance to be very good. Now, two years later he is very good and weighs 195 pounds of muscle.
Proctor’s favorite colleges, in order, given to us in person are Ole Miss, TCU, Oregon, Louisville, and Texas Tech. Proctor has offers currently from Memphis, Tulsa, South Alabama, ULM, ULL, and Southern Miss.
