June 9, 2010 - One of the hardest positions to recruit every year in Louisiana is a high school kid, who’s an athlete, big, strong, good feet, tall, smart, and can play all three positions across the offensive line. That’s what you have with Jonathan Lewis (6-4, 275) from Many High School. I filmed Jonathan Lewis in 2009, and noticed this tall kid, who could get down low on blocks, and pull on run plays as an OT. I was very impressed also with his effort every play, which shows he loves the game, and works hard. Lewis could move to center, guard, or OT in college. You don’t see many 6-4 offensive lineman that have good feet like this kid in the state every year. I was also able to meet Jonathan Lewis in person for a picture shoot for the first time, and he’s a very mature kid. This kid has a great frame, and if there’s such a thing as lean for 275 pounds its Jonathan. Jonathan is very strong in the weight room. He benches 310 pounds, Squats 435, and Cleans 265. This kid can throw the discus 130 feet and Shot Put 45 feet. Lewis carries a 3.7 GPA in the class room, and has an ACT score of 18.
Jonathan is not ranked high with recruiting websites, but as a scout I have him ranked very high in Louisiana at the moment. This kid has a NFL future, and if he keeps working hard with the frame and feet this kid has, he will weigh 310 pounds when done, and play Center or Guard in the NFL one day.
