Brad NelsonQ: When did you start playing football?

A: In the Fourth grade when I was 10 years old.

Q: How did your early years in football shape the player you have become today?

A: I just learned the basics when I was young and I was able to continue to develop my game as I got older.

Q: What draws you to the sport of football?

A: I like football because of the excitement that comes with the game.  I couldn't thing of anything better to do on a Friday night than playing a football game.

Q: Is there anyone who has influenced you throughout your years of play?  If so, how have they helped you?

A: All of my teammates have been and influence on me.  They push me to be the best I can be and they always remind me to have fun while I'm playing.

Q: What has been your proudest moment?

A: When our team came back from 21 points to beat Acadiana in the quarterfinals.  I think it showed how much heart our team has and was the best football game I have ever played in.

Q: How have your coaches helped you develop as a player?

A: My coaches have taught me techniques to be sucessful and have shown me how to be an effective wide receiver.  They also helped me develop a work ethic that made me a better player.

Q: What is it like being on your team?

A: I try to be a good leader and set and example for others to follow.  I help my teammates in any way that I can and try to make every practice a good practice for them.  I think that I am pretty close with all my teammates.

Q: What would you like fans to know about you and your team?

A: I will continue to work to get better every week and so will my team.  We have got a special group this year and hopefully we'll leave a leagacy.

Q: What do you do for strength and conditioning?

A: I went to workouts over the summer everyday at 7:00 A.M. Coach Weiner runs a good program that gets us ready for the season.  I also work out with the basketball team in the afternoons and condition on my own.

Q: What was your off season program like?

A: It was hard but it got me ready for the season.  We ran and lifted for the most part but it was the abs workout that was the hardest for me.  I feel like I'm much faster and stronger after going through the off season workouts.

Q: What are your personal goals for the 2009 season?

A: I am hoping to make All State and take home Catholic High's first ever state championship.

Q: What are your plans after high school?

A: I hope to play football somewhere in college.  I'm still not sure about a major right now but I'm interested in enviornmental science and thinking about pursuing a degree in enviornmental engineering.

Q: Do you play any other sports?

A: I am one of the four seniors on the varsity basketball team this year and hope to earn a starting spot after football season.

Q: What is your favorite stadium to play in?

A: Zachary's field was really nice and it made the game a lot of fun.  Playing on turf always gets everyone a little more excited.

Q: Who is your favorite pro team? Why?

A: I like watching the Patriots play.  They have so many weapons and Brady/Moss cannot be stopped.

Q: Who is your favorite college team? Why?

A: Purdue is one of my favorite college teams.  I remember watching them win the rose bowl with Drew Brees and I've had a thing for them ever since.

Q: Who is your favorite player?

A: Andre Johnson.  He is such a physical receiver and hardly ever showboats.  He's a class act.

Q: What is the best advice you have ever been given when it comes to the game?

A: Don't hang your head if you make a mistake.  The game is too fun to get down on yourself and make sure you take it all in and have a good time.
