| Brent Grimes |
RB Brent Grimes of IAA Central Arkansas, played his high school ball at Baton Rouge based high school Redemptorist, and was always over shadowed by the bigger skill players at his school most notably CB/RB Johnell Neal, 5-11 176 , who had a great career as a DB for Head Coach George O Leary for( DI) Central Florida, best CB for three straight years and probably best CB in that conference , and is currently playing pro ball. Brent only stood about( 5-8 )about( 175) in weight coming out of Redemptorist High School, but now stands( 5-9 ), and a very muscled built (196) pounds. Brent finished the 2009 season rushing for 1,222 yards with 18 touchdowns, Brent carried the ball , get this, 597 attempts in his college career at Central Arkansas for 3,060 yards, and a whopping 50 touchdowns. Grimes season best game this year was 181 yards against McNeese State; he carried the ball 39 times in that game for his team. Brent also had 32 catches for 311 yards as a Wide Receiver out of the back field in 2009. Brent Grimes will have a chance to be invited to a NFL camp or CFL, in the upcoming months. The NFL loves short quick downhill runners, with really good hands out of the back field. The only former Redemptorist RB to have as much success in college would be RB Jay Lucas, who signed with Texas A&M out of high school, but transferred to IAA Southeastern in Hammond, where he started three years with some very good stats.

I will end by say this, these are two great examples of kids, that were not big in high school and where not recruited by DI or IAA schools even in state very hard, they have the it factor, when it comes to recruiting, RB Brent Grimes was always fast and quick, when he was 5-8 175 in high school, QB Scott Buisson was always a leader, with a good arm, and great touch, and found a way to move the chains in high school. Leadership and knowing the game, with a great work ethic will go a long way for you in college.
