May 6, 2010 - I learned today after talking to David Barham that he is now a hired football coach for Blinn, Texas, Junior College. David Barham was Head Coach of Louisiana Prep, which folded after this past season in 2009. David Barham started the school as Acadiana Prep, but changed it to Louisiana Prep for last year, and did a great job assembling a big time group of talented kids. This was a School which was a prep school for kids in Louisiana, and this group of kids did not play against any of the I A to 5A public schools, but did play against other home schooled programs in Louisiana. The Louisiana Prep played its football games in Opelousas, LA. Coach Barham was responsible for helping coach LB Rufus Alexander at Christian Life HS in Baton Rouge . Rufus Alexander made ALL American as a LB for Oklahoma, and is currently in the NFL. Blinn Junior College always has great big lineman that are signed backs to some impressive big time DIV 1 programs.
One of the players who still had eligibility left at Louisiana Prep is big time (Athlete), Brandon Alexander, who stands 6-7 and weighs 230 pounds, and runs a 4.7 forty. Brandon has since transferred to Powerhouse Brenham HS, in Texas, which is just a short drive from Austin,TX. Brandon will be highly recruited, and look for the current in State Louisiana Schools to recruit him now that he’s at Brenham. I filmed this kid last year at Louisiana Prep. He’s a stud, and a big time talent. His position in college will be TE or DE for college, or wherever you need him. DE will probably will be his natural position for DIV 1 football.
Brandon will be in the 260 to 270 range after he starts lifting weights, and filling out. I would be shocked if the Texas DI schools don’t start recruiting this kid after this up and coming season.
